Notes
Among Otto Rohloff’s employers were Prince Albrecht of Prussia, Princess Marie of Saxe-Altenburg, not to mention Emperor Wilhelm II, from whom he received many commissions.
This Desk set, within its dome-shaped ink lids and geometric lines, the box set cabochons of various precious and semiprecious stones adorning it, as well as the chiselled motifs which lend well to the style of the church Am Steinho or the work of Gustav Klimt, bears a strinking resemblance to the first works produced within the Viennese Secessionist Movement.
